Gregory Paul Petrash was born October 5, 1956 in Houston, Texas, and passed away on June 9, 2017 in Rosenberg, Texas. He was born to Sarah Ella and the late Leonard John Petrash, and was later joined by sisters Judith Ann and Angela Marie.
He graduated from James Madison High School in Houston, Texas and fulfilled his patriotic duty in 1976 when he enlisted in US Navy. Gregory Paul Petrash was born October 5, 1956 in Houston, Texas, and passed away on June 9, 2017 in Rosenberg, Texas. He was born to Sarah Ella and the late Leonard John Petrash, and was later joined by sisters Judith Ann and Angela Marie.
He graduated from James Madison High School in Houston, Texas and fulfilled his patriotic duty in 1976 when he enlisted in US Navy. Greg attended Great Lakes Naval School to train as an Operations Specialist and served on the USS Lawrence out of Norfolk, Virginia. After his honorable discharge, he remained in the Naval Reserve for several years. You could almost say that The Navy was his first love.
Greg was a hard worker that believed in doing his best- a quality he always said his father taught him. He was liked by everyone. Always the charmer, always joking, and always making everyone laugh.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard John Petrash. He is survived by his mother, Sarah Ella Petrash of Houston, Texas; sister, Judith Ann Inclan and her husband, Alejandro and nieces, Allison and Laura Inclan, all of Pensacola, Florida; sister, Angela Marie Petrash of Houston, Texas; wife, Pamela S. Petrash, daughter Shannon Elisabeth Petrash, son, Andrew Brian Petrash, and grandson, Jamison Parker Singerling, all of Greensboro, North Carolina.
A visitation will be held on Thursday June 15, 2017 from 4-8 pm with a rosary to be held at 6pm at Pat H. Foley & Co. Funeral Home, 1200 W.34th Street, Houston, Texas 77018. Burial will be on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 9:30 am at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
